My Story - How I Become a Nurse
Anita Alexus Okocha is the CEO of Saint-Alexandra Healthcare Services. And a Critical Care Specialist Nurse. A former Sports/News Reporter in Nigeria and have covered major International Sports including the Olympic 2000 in Sydney.
After the coverage of the Olympic Games in Australia, she took her annual leave and decided to spend her holiday in England. One evening she felt the need to listen to the 10 o'clock BBC News, broadcast by Howard Huw in the year 2000. She heard the former Prime Minister, Tony Blair advocating to recruit 4,000 new Nurses.
On the screen, she saw NHS elderly patient waiting anxiously for someone to feed him. Food left on the table, and not enough staff to feed him.
COMPASSIONATE CARE IS A GIFT
She decided immediately in the morning to help out in whichever way that she could. Bearing in mind, that she knows nothing about Nursing. She said to herself "l can do this", and wrote to the Home Office in the morning of that fateful night.
Anita feels blessed to be a Nurse and whatever that led her to this path, and, She says "Thank You" because it is fantastic to help anyone in need of medical and nursing care. Thus, the aim of establishing Saint Alexandra, to reach out to sound mind and infirm alike. Just to give it all without any restrictions.
Nursing is excellent and amazing, immeasurable and priceless, a unique Vocation that is indescribable. Full of utmost compassion, selflessness, eagerness to help anyone.
Graduated from The University of the West of England in Bristol, and so many courses have been attended and achieved in other Universities, to include New Buckinghamshire University and the University of West London.
Anita specialised in Critical Care Nursing. As a private Critical Care Nurse, she works across Intensive Care Units and commits to Community Care in England, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands, caring for the critically ill clients of all level.
